March In Philadelphia: St. Patrick’s Day and More!!!

The month of March in Philadelphia never disappoints. With a host of events surrounding St. Patrick’s Day and the celebration of Women’s History Month there is more than enough to one can participate in to have fun and stay busy. Here is a list of events to consider when heading out the remainder of the month.

St Patrick’s Day

Philly offers more than enough ways to celebrate, eat, drink, be Irish, and drink some more on St. Patrick’s Day; there are also more then enough places to celebrate. Here some of the ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day from March 14-17th.

The Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade: An event for the entire family and a yearly Philly Tradition, The Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held this year on March 15th, beginning at 16th and JFK and continuing up Ben Franklin Parkway. Women’s History Month

Celebrate Women’s History In Philadelphia with a variety of programs and events.

Juke Jawn-A Celebration of Nina Simone: For poets, lovers of poetry and the spoken word and Nina Simone, this event will feature some of the areas hottest lady poets in a salute to legendary songstress Nina Simone. The Juke Jawn tribute to Nina Simone will take place on March 12th at A Poet Art Gallery. Tickets start at $10. For more info visit here

Poetree En Motion-Womyn’s Her Story In The Midst: On Wednesday March 18th join Poetree En Motion founder Gabrielle De Burke aka Plum Dragoness at The Rotunda for an evening of spoken word, music, artistry, and bellydance. This event is free to the public. For more info visit here  .

Unity In The Community Women’s History Month Celebration: On Thursday March 19th at Universal Audenreid High School local African American Women community leaders will be honored for their contribution to their communities. Behind and Beyond The Oscars-A Conversation With Cheryl Boone Isaacs: On Friday March 20th head to The Bryn Mawr Film Institute for a conversation with The Academy’s first African American woman board member, Cheryl Boone Isaacs. Tickets are $20-$25. For more information visit here .

Pretty In The City Presented By Gurlification: Hosted by Miss Teen Pennsylvania 2015 Jasmine Daniels, Pretty In The City is a celebration of girls and women of all ages and will feature a day of fun, fashion, and entertainment. Philly Chili Bowl 6: Join BigBite for their 6th annual Philly Chili Bowl at The Ukrainian American Citizen’s Association on March 14th. Sugar Rush Presented By Spark Philadelphia: On Monday March 23rd Spark Philadelphia will hold their annual Sugar Rush to benefit Philadelphia Youth at Hotel Monaco on Chestnut Street. Koresh Kouture: One of Philadelphia’s most prestigious dance companies, Koresh Dance, will host a high performance, fashion themed silent auction and gala on Saturday March 28th at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre.
