The Myra Bradwell Awards Ceremony Honoring Maria Bello

This Friday evening The Women’s Law Project hosted their annual Myra Bradwell Reception & Awards Presentation at The Independence Visitor Center.

This year’s recipient of the Myra Bradwell Award was actress, activist, and Norristown native Maria Bello. Ms Bello received the award for her work in Haiti as co-founder of We Advance; which aims to create a grassroots movement based on women’s rights that advocates healthcare, and putting an end to violence against women.

Maria Bello became affiliated with The Women’s Law Project when she was a student at Villanova University during the 1980’s

Other Special Recognition awards recipients were Linda & David Glickenstein along with Kimberly Oxholm.

The Women’s Law Project is non-profit organization based in Philadelphia and aims to end gender based discrimination and advance the status and rights of women. It was founded primarily by Terry Fromson, Dabney Miller, & Carol E Tracy.
