Philly’s top chefs threw down and delicious dishes were served last night at the 2013 E.A.T.S(Eat Along The Street): 2 countries 2 kitchens fundraiser at Vie ballroom in Fairmount.
Guests were treated to some of the best street food in town from food trucks which lined the street serving up a variety of dishes from local eateries; including those from Nomad Pizza who won 1st place in the food truck competition, Just Jackie’s, Sunflower Truck Stop, Sammy Chon’s K Town, Vernalicious, Local 215, The Cow & The Curd, & Sweet Box Cupcakes.
Chefs from Tashan, Vedge, Cubana Social, Talula’s Garden, Garces Restaurant Group & Cantina Feliz vied for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Prize in a 2 part throw down in which they made street foods unique to various locations around the world. The panel of judges for the the throw down included Tony Luke of the famous Tony Luke Jr’s and Wilhelmina Bell of Children’s Village.
Awards were presented by Iron Chef Jose Garces of Garces Restaurant group.
All proceeds from E.A.T.S will benefit the building of 2 kitchens: one at an orphanage in Thailand and another at Children’s Village in Philadelphia.
